i have 0 from my birthday and was planning on getting an ipod touch. should i buy the 8 gb now or wait until i get another 0 for christmas and buy the 32 gb? the memory size isnt really an issue, its just that the 32 gb has a newer software or whatever. what do you think?

No do not wait! Speed is barely noticable difference from both versions, you can also get the ipod touch for $170 shipped (8GB 3g version) so buy today and save the rest of the money!
Depends on what you will use it for. For me, I thought 8 gigs would be enough since I only had 800 songs, but then I started getting tons of fun iPod Apps and am starting to get low on memory, so I’d say it depends on how many songs you have, and how many apps you plan on getting (they take up quite a bit of memory).
The discussion should be between size and money, which one will fit you best. Software isn’t at all a factor to think about, because there is no difference in software between a 8 and 32 gb.

I am a video person so I went for the 32 gig. It has voice control and earphones with remote control. After activating Voice Control I can speak into the mic and tell it to play various artists, albums, and songs. I can use it to control the volume of videos, podcasts, and music as well as pause whatever I’m playing.
As the first poster said, it really depends on what you want to use it for. If really just want to play music, 8 gb might be just right for you.
BTW: If you plan to get the 32 gig don’t forget to save more then that extra $100. My Touch with taxes cost me $326.99. I just wanted to make sure you saved up enough so you can get the iPod you want and enjoy it as much as I’m enjoying mine.
