How to avoid the “proof of purchase or sale” requirement from the warranty?

I purchased a camcorder some time back, and there is fault with it now. The warranty still covers the product but requires a proof of purchase which i do not have. Is there a way to avoid this requirement from the warranty or some other loophole?
Thanks

If you paid for it via a credit card, or bought through Best Buy, they will likely still have access to the receipt information.

Learn the hardway to staple the receipt to the instruction booklet.
